Setelah dua tahun pasca terbitnya album I am With You dan padatnya jadwal tour mereka yang ga ada rem, akhirnya tahun ini Red Hot Chilli Pepper akan kembali masuk ke dapur rekaman untuk pembuatan album baru mereka. Hal ini disampaikan oleh Chad Smith sang drummer yang diwawancarai oleh Billboard pada bulan Mei lalu. “We’re probably looking at getting together in September and getting on a roll and starting to write songs for the next record.” cetus nya.
Tahun ini juga merupakan tahun dimana Chad telah 25 tahun bersama Red Hot Chilli Peppers dan ia sangat tersanjung bisa terus bersama keluarga ini. Dan ketika ditanya oleh wartawan bagaimana perasaannya saat ini, inilah jawaban Chad: "It’s crazy. I would have never thought 25 years ago this would have happened like it has. We were a pretty volatile bunch back then. There’s been a lot of ups and downs. But I think as we grow older and maybe grow up a little bit that we realize we’ve got this special chemistry and we make this music that people love all over the world. I’ve got a good job.
